Our Approach

Establishing the leadership requirements to deliver your organisations goals is a crucial part of any talent management strategy. Without such a shared language, other initiaitves such as leadership succession and development are bound to flounder. However, exactly what constitutes talent - i.e. how do you describe it and how do you recognise it -is a perplexing question for many organisations. You know you need it, but how do you create it? Often organisations look to the latest "leadership thinking" for the answer, yet are still left wanting. The key reason being that leadership models tend to represent "one size fits all" thinking. They fail to take account of the fact that the leadership requirements of an organisation need to reflect and accommodate both the uniqueness of the business and the seniority of role.

Our approach does (we would say that wouldn't we). We have developed our own "three cluster" model of leadership effectiveness based on our own experience and the most up to date research into leadership attributes. This together with a current state/desired state analysis enables you to bridge the gap between the organisational capabilities you need to meet the business strategy and what this means for the leadership capabilities required at various levels and in various roles in the organisation. Importantly it provides the necessary framework to identify potential, to facilitate succession management and to help you in the journey from current state to desired state.
